The Saudi Universities' teams currently participating in 25th Summer Universiade, showed a lackluster performance at individual competitions. In Tennis, Salih Al Mutairi lost his match in the event due to injury. In Table Tennis, Mohammed Abu Redha also lost the match in the event. Abu Redha attributed his lusterless performance to the lack of experience, but his colleague Hassan al-Hajji is optimistic in achieving a positive result in the singles and doubles competition. The Saudi universities teams participation will be confined to men singles in Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis, Taekwondo, Judo, and weight-lifting. The Saudi delegation to the Universiade 2009 is comprised of 38 competitors from a number of Saudi universities including Umm Al-Qura, Al-Imam Mohammed bin Saud Islamic University, King Saud University, King Abdulaziz University, King Faisal University, King Khalid University and Al Qassim University.
