Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference stressed that the Islamic world is facing challenges that are topped by the attack on the Islamic culture and beliefs, commonly known as Islamophobia. Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu's remarks came in his speech at the 10th General Conference of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) held recently in Tunis. The speech was delivered on his behalf by Director General of Cultural and Social Affairs at the OIC Ambassador Himayat Aldeen. Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu stated that his year, the Organization of the Islamic Conference is celebrating its 40th Anniversary adding that this occasion is a fitting opportunity for the Ummah "to take a fresh resolve to strengthen our unity and to meet the challenges ahead by being guided by the vision of the OIC Ten Year Programme of Action and the new Charter of the OIC."
