Arab and Islamic countries continue to provide food assistance to needy people in the south of The Sudan and support voluntary return program in Darfur, it was reported here today. Chairman of the Sudanese Red Crescent Dr. Habeeb Makhtoum said that delegations from the Arab and Islamic Red Crescent societies, including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, have supported humanitarian efforts in Darfur and paid visits to the South of The Sudan and Darfur. In particular, the Saudi Red Crescent has expressed readiness to pay field visits to distribution points, he said, adding that Sudan appreciates the Arab countries response to assist the affected in Darfur and the South of Sudan.
