The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia provided Yemen with in-kind and financial assistance amounting to SR 4,500,000 to support the efforts exerted to combat malaria in Yemen. The assistance was handed over to Yemeni Undersecretary of Health Ministry Dr. Ghazi Ismail by Saudi Ambassador to Yemen Ali Al-Hamdan. The assistance includes a check for SR 2,000,000 to support the malaria control program; a shipment of equipment and supplies used to control malaria amounting to SR 2,500,000; and 500 Swine-flu detectors. Dr. Ghazi Ismail thanked the Kingdom for its continued support to the health sector in Yemen, saying that this assistance will contribute to the reduction of the implications of epidemic diseases such as malaria in Yemen. For his part, the Saudi Ambassador said that this assistance was directed by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and came as part of the Kingdom's support to combat malaria in Yemen.
