A joint team of The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) and Islamic Development Bank (IDB) visited today 'Jalozai' refugee camp of the internally displaced persons (IDP) from Swat on the North Western Frontier Region -Pakistan. The visit of the team headed by Ambassador Atta al Mannan Bakhee came to assist the situation in the camps and provide Islamic needs to the refugees. The ambassador Bakheet pointed out that the Team expressed its solidarity with the people and government of Pakistan in its quest to achieve lasting peace and stability, and made an assessment of the humanitarian needs in place, which will help the Secretary-General of the Organization's call to mobilize resources to complement the efforts of the Government of Pakistan to achieve stability and rehabilitation of families of the displaced persons. The delegation toured the camps of some 10,000 families displaced from the troubled areas, where fighting is raging between the Pakistani army and militants.
