US President Barack Obama on Sunday expressed his deep concern about developments in Honduras, where soldiers reportedly had seized President Manuel Zelaya in an apparent coup, according to dpa. In a White House statement, Obama said he backed the call by the Organisation of American States (OAS) urging all the parties in the Central American country to respect the democratic and legal rules. The current tensions and conflict should be resolved peacefully and free of outside influence, the White House statement said.
