The Extraordinary Meeting of the Arab Foreign ministers began here today under the chairmanship of Sudanese Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ali Ahmed Karti. The meeting was also attended by Amr Mousa, The Secretary General of the League of the Arab States. The delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is led by Dr. Nizar Obeid Madani, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs. The meeting will discuss procedures of the joint Arab Action in the international arena in the light of current developments and future prospects for the peace process within the framework of the new U.S. policy approach put forward by U.S. President Barack Obama during his recent address to the Muslim world from Cairo, Egypt and also in the light of the Israeli rejection of all the terms of settlement. The Spokesman for the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Abdul Aleem Al Abyadh said the joint action plan formulated by the Arab foreign ministers will be carried out by the Arab ministerial delegation and the Secretary General of the Arab League and that it would be presented to the meeting of the international Quartet to be held in Italy on Friday. It was decided to hold meetings behind closed doors, and that only the head of the delegation and its only three members will hold in-depth discussions and prevent any leak from the discussions.
