THE SECOND JOINT MEETING BETWEEN THE FOREIGN MINISTERS OF THE MEMBER STATES OF THE GULF COOPERATION COUNCIL AND YEMEN'S MINISTER OF FOREIGN AND EXPATRIATES AFFAIRS DR. ABU-BAKER ABDULLAH AL-GIRBI BEGAN IN SANAA TODAY. THE MEETING WAS ATTENDED BY YEMEN'S PRIME MINISTER ABDULQADER BAJAMMAL AND GCC SECRETARY GENERAL ABDULRAHMAN BIN HAMAD AL-ATIYYAH. DR. NIZAR BIN OBEID MADANI, MINISTER OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS, LED SAUDI ARABIA'S DELEGATION TO THE MEETING. IN A KEY ADDRESS, AL-GIRBI SAID THE MEETING IS AN IMPORTANT TURNING POINT AND A STEP FURTHER IN THE RELATIONS OF YEMEN WITH GCC COUNTRIES. HE SAID THE MEETING COULD FORM A KICK OFF OF TIES THAT WOULD LEAD THE ARAB PENINSULA TO FORM A MORE STRONG AND EFFECTIVE POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC GATHERING. HE SAID THE LONDON DONORS CONFERENCE SHOULD REFLECT THE POLITICAL WILL OF THE GCC LEADERS TO BOOST YEMEN'S ECONOMY TO ENABLE IT INTEGRATE IN THE GCC ECONOMIES.
