based Al-Nadwa shed light on the Saudi-Palestinian summit due to be held in Jeddah later today under the co-chairmanship of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, and said the summit is of a great significance because it comes after important developments at the Arab arena. "This summit comes after the disappointing speech delivered by Israeli premier Netanyahu and following a rational and wise address of U.S. President Barack Obama in Cairo which focused on the settlement of the problem on the basis of the two-state formula. "There is a clear Saudi stand as regards extending support to the Palestinian brothers and to enable them restore their rights including their right to establish an independent state on their homeland with al-Quds as its capital". The visit of Abbas to the Kingdom reiterates the fact that the Kingdom is one of the major pillars of the peace process, it concluded.
