The National Chemicals Carriers (NCC) signed here yesterday a partnership agreement with Norwegian 'Odfgel' company. Under the agreement a 50-50 percent ownership company will be established in Dubai for the operation of the two companies for transporting petrochemicals, vegetable oils and refined petroleum products. Essam Al-Mubarak, the chairman of the board of directors of NCC, said the new company will start its activities effective from next year. He noted that the agreement comes as a culmination of the existing distinguished relations with Odfgel since the establishment of the company. It is worth mentioning that Odfgel is one of the biggest international companies that works in the field of transporting chemicals around the world. The company operates 90 tankers with a capacity of about 2.5 million tons in the field of transporting petrochemicals, vegetable oils and refined petroleum materials. The capital of NCC, established in 1990, amounts to SR 610 million. It is owned by the Saudi Arabia National Shipping Company (SANSC) and SABIC, 80 percent for SANSC and 20 percent for SABIC.
