General Motors (GM) chief executive Fritz Henderson said Thursday he expects to remain as the automaker's chief when it emerges from bankruptcy protection. Henderson met with the Obama administration's auto task force before meeting at the Capitol with Michigan lawmakers. Henderson told reporters it was his “expectation” that he would remain chief executive of GM when the new company emerges, but added, “There's no such guarantee in life.” The chief executive told Michigan lawmakers that GM plans to make a decision by the end of the month on whether it will build a new compact car in Michigan, Tennessee, or Wisconsin.
