The Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, is leaving later today for Cairo, following an invitation by the Egyptian government to attend the speech to be addressed at Cairo University by US President Barack Obama to the Muslim world. It is worth recalling that the Secretary General called in an open letter he addressed to President Obama in the wake of his inauguration as President of the United States for the need to forge a new partnership between the US and the Muslim world. He also stressed the commitment of the OIC to cooperate in order to boost constructive dialogue, according to a press release of the OIC issued here yesterday.
