The Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) has welcomed the appointment of Rashad Hussain by President Barack Obama as U.S. Special Envoy to the OIC. The Special Envoy will be officially introduced to the OIC Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu during the official visit of the US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to the OIC General Secretariat headquarters in Jeddah later today. The spokesperson of the OIC General Secretariat wished success to the new Special Envoy in his endeavors in promotion of mutual understanding and cooperation between the Muslim World and the US and extended cooperation of the OIC General Secretariat particularly in development and continuation of projects in the fields of health, science and technology and culture as well as in the framework of possibilities of cooperation and engagement provided by the Cairo Speech of President Obama, according to a latest press release of the OIC.
