Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Ali, President of the Jeddah-based Islamic Development Bank (IDB), said the bank's meeting currently ongoing in Ashqabad is focusing on the agricultural, industrial, global financial crisis, and Islamic financing issues while the businessmen meeting held on its fringes focuses on investment opportunities in Turkmenistan and neighboring countries. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, he said his meeting with the Turkmenistan President was fruitful. He noted that Turkmenistan joined IDB in November 1994. IDB has pumped some $90 million to finance development projects in the country, he said.
