President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow of Turkmenistan received here today Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Ali, President of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB). The meeting dealt with ways of strengthening the existing relations between Turkmenistan and the IDB, and engaged in a review of a number of projects in the sectors of oil transportation and infrastructure including construction and equipping of airports and railways, which the bank can contribute to the funding. On his part, the President of Turkmenistan expressed his appreciation to IDB for its contribution in enhancing and supporting development efforts in his country and for the participation of the IDB in the recently ended conference on "Reliable and stable transit of energy carriers, its sustainable development and role in the international cooperation". He emphasized the support of Turkmenistan's Government to the success of the activities of the 34th annual meeting of IDB Board of Governors, which will be held in Ashgabat during the period of May 4-5, hoping the meeting will be an opportunity to support the relations of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the rest of the Member States of the Islamic Development Bank.
