Two British soldiers have been killed in an explosion in Afghanistan, Reuters cited the Ministry of Defence as saying today. One of the soldiers was from the Light Dragoons, the other from the Parachute Regiment. The explosion took place while the soldiers were on operations in Musa Qala in Helmand Province. The servicemen have not been named but their families have been informed. The deaths bring to 165 the number of British service personnel killed in Afghanistan since conflict began in late 2001. Britain has more than 8,000 troops based in Afghanistan, the vast majority serving in the desert province of Helmand.
