Saudi newspapers commented editorially today on a number of local, regional and international topics. The Jeddah-based Al-Bilad newspaper highlighted the great attention given by the Saudi officials to the educational sector and said the Kingdom's leaders do believe that science constitutes the foundation for any progress or development, and so they have allocated large sums of money for the development of the educational sector. "Thanks to Allah Almighty, and thanks to the wise policy of the Saudi Leadership, the Saudi universities have earned a good reputation at the world arena and attained a significant development in the field of scientific research." The paper pointed out that Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz, the Second Deputy Premier and Interior Minister, has launched development projects at Jazan university at a total cost of more than SR1.6 billion. Undoubtedly, this scientific development will yield positive results in the various domains of life, the daily added.
