Saudi newspapers commented editorially today on the current situation in the quake-hit areas of Madinah and Tabuk provinces and the subsequent evacuation measures and relief assistance undertaken by the government in line with directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz. In an editorial entitled 'Management of Al-Ais Crisis', the Dammam-based Al-Yaum said "With the decline of the seismic activity in Al-Ais region, we can say the concerned authorities have successfully managed the crisis of tremors." The concerned authorities have made all required arrangements for facing the crisis, said the paper, adding that the citizens of Al-Ais were evacuated to camps provided with all needs and facilities. The concerned authorities should be thanked for the great efforts they had exerted for the service of the citizens of Al-Ais. "Despite of the success attained by the concerned authorities in this respect, we can say absence of voluntary civil organizations have been noticed," the paper said. "This should make us give more attention to the voluntary civil organizations and lay foundation for deep-rooted traditions for management of crises." --MORE
