The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has recently participated in a diplomatic conference hosted by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in Montreal, Canada. The Kingdom's delegation was led by the Executive Vice President of General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) Abdulaziz bin Abdulkarim Al-Anqari and a number of specialists from GACA and Saudi Arabian Airlines. During the conference, two new air law conventions setting out international compensation and liability rules for damage caused by aircraft to third parties were adopted. The conference was attended by representatives of 81 states and 16 international organizations. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was elected as a member of the Drafting Committee and a member of the Future Work Committee that will participate in the development of rules and regulations of the International Fund for Civil Aviation.
