The death toll from swine flu in the United States had risen to four today, with more than 4,000 confirmed cases, dpa reported. Health officials in Arizona said late Thursday that a woman in her late 40s had died last week from complications of the H1N1 flu virus. She had suffered from underlying lung disease, according to the Maricopa County Department of Public Health in Phoenix. Last week a man suffering heart problems died from complications from the H1N1 flu strain in Seattle. The two other human deaths in the nation occurred in the state of Texas, which like Arizona borders Mexico, the epicentre of the outbreak.
