The extraordinary meeting for the executive bureau of the council of the Arab health ministers began here today. The participants of the meeting are scheduled to review the phenomenon of swine flu. Speaking on the occasion, health minister and head of the executive bureau for the council of the Arab health ministers Dr Abdullah al-Rabee'a said the Saudi health ministry has taken the required precautionary measures to confront this epidemic. He noted that an integrated national plan was set based on the recommendations of the world health organization (WHO) and the infection combating caners in the US and a modern directory was issued. He noted that the world is facing a real challenge due to the spread of this disease to 21 countries and infection of about 1085 persons. Dr al-Rabee'a said several countries of the world have started to take the required measures for confronting the disease. Dr al-Rabee'a pointed out that the meeting, organized by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, aims at unification of and coordination of efforts as well as exchange of experience.
