U.S. President Barack Obama was moved from the White House when a single-engine plane veered into restricted airspace, UPI cited officials as disclosing. Obama and Vice President Joe Biden were taken to a "secure location" yesterday when the plane, traveling from Maine to North Carolina, was spotted and escorted out of the restricted space above the White House by military aircraft, The New York Times reported. Press Secretary Robert Gibbs told reporters he wasn't sure if first lady Michelle Obama had been evacuated as well. Obama's daughters were at school at the time, the Times said. Gibbs added that the White House was locked down for a short period, asserting that Obama and Biden were moved out of "an abundance of caution." The president made a quick reappearance after the incident, attending a White House event promoting his plans to make college more affordable, The Washington Post said.
