Deputy Minister of Education and Member of the Executive Board of the UNESCO Faisal bin Abdulrahman bin Moammar stressed Saudi support for the UNESCO. In a speech he delivered today before the 181st session of the board currently held in Paris, he highlighted Saudi support for the UNESCO adding that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continues its support for international efforts aiming at confronting forms of exclusion and extremism in the world in all possible ways topped by "dialogue," adding that the 2008 Madrid Initiative for Dialogue among Religions and Cultures is one of the Saudi initiatives adopted and supported by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz. Faisal bin Moammar highlighted Saudi efforts to help the poor and the needy in the world including the king's support for World Food Program with USD500 million giving him the 2008 prize of world champion for fighting hunger and his donation of USD300 million to establish a fund for financing research and studies for climate change and environment. Faisal bin Moammar said that the percentage of Saudi aid during the last three decades is 4% of the total Saudi national gross product benefiting 86 developing countries, a percentage that far exceeds the targeted percentage by the UN.
