Prince Nawaf bin Faisal bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, Vice General President of Youth Welfare and Vice Chairman of the Saudi Arabian Soccer Federation, asserted that the Arab Soccer Federation is a federation for all Arabs and highlighted the importance of competition in the elections for the presidency of the federation saying it proves that the federation's achievements and development attracted all to participate in it. The statement came in response to a question on the elections of the presidency of the Arab Soccer Federation which Mohammad bin Hammam announced his intention to run for. In a press conference held by Prince Nawaf here today, he said that all people are welcome in the Arab Soccer Federation and that elections will decide. But he added that he is certain that at the time of the elections, there will one candidate, that is Prince Sultan bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, the president of the Arab Soccer Federation. Responding to another question, Prince Nawaf said that Saudi Arabia supports Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifah in the elections for the Asian seat at the executive bureau of the FIFA. On another question, Prince Nawaf stressed Saudi support for the Palestinians.
