Six people have been killed in a home shooting in California, police from the state said on Monday morning. The shooting happened in an upscale neighborhood in the city of Santa Clara, officer said. Santa Clara police Lieutenant Phil Cook told local reporters that police responded to a call at the house on Sunday evening, where they found three children and two adults dead. They found another two victims seriously wounded and one – an infant girl – died of her injuries at a hospital later on. One of the two adults found dead at the scene appeared to have suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said. The seventh person involved – an adult woman – has been hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. Cook told reporters that the shooting appeared to be a “family on family, murder-suicide.” The shooting came a day after another horrific gun crime in North Carolina, where a gunman burst into a nursing home and began shooting. He killed eight people before police arrested him. The motive in both shooting was not yet clear.
