An earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter Scale jolted Yuanping City of northern Shanxi Province at 7:11 p.m. Saturday, Xinhua quoted China's seismological network as saying. The quake was detected at 38.9 degrees north latitude and 112.9degrees east longitude, at a depth of 5 km. No information on casualties or damages was available at press time.
