The General Directorate of Civil Defense has warned that Riyadh city and its governorates in Riyadh region may be affected in the upcoming hours with a dust storm leading to semi-lack of horizontal vision and that it will be accompanied by powerful and robust winds with an speed of up to 65 kilometers per hour. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Directorate said," In reference to the warning issued by the General Presidency of Meteorology and Environment Protection against the dust storm, it is expected that the storm will move today to the south and east to cover the Eastern Region. There is also an opportunity for formation of cumulus clouds from south of Riyadh to Al-Ahsa governorate. The Directorate called on all citizens and residents to be cautious and vigilant.
