Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations in Geneva Dr. Abdul Wahab Attar delivered a speech before the Human Rights Council currently held in Geneva. Dr. Attar stressed that the media broadcast Israel's violations of human rights in the occupied Palestinian territories during Israel's recent war in Gaza. It also broadcast Israel's collective punishment against the Palestinian people and the destruction of homes and agricultural lands in a way that inflicted injustice on the Palestinians. The injustice is suffered by the inhabitants of the occupied Palestinian territory since the establishment of Israel state. "Israel is continuing its settlement policy that violates the rights of the Palestinian people. Among its efforts to alleviate the suffering of Palestinian people, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia provided the Palestinian people with aid and committed itself to support the work of the Human Rights Council to provide necessary humanitarian assistance to the occupied Palestinian people", Dr. Attar said. Dr. Attar thanked the Special Rapporteur for human rights in the occupied Palestinian territories Professor Richard Falk for his valuable report which included the brutal violations of human rights by the Israeli occupying forces against the Palestinian people, particularly in Gaza war at the end of 2008 and early 2009.
