Saudi Arabia on Thursday established diplomatic ties with the principality of Andorra in a signing ceremony that took place at the Kingdom's United Nations mission in New York. The signing ceremony was attended by Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to the United Nations Khalid Al Nafisee and Andorra's U.N. Envoy Carlos Font Rossell. This is the third such diplomatic agreement that Saudi Arabia has signed in recent weeks following the signing of agreements with Ecuador and Dominica. Andorra is a tiny principality sandwiched between France and Spain and is the most popular ski resort in the Pyrenees. It has a population of some 80,000 and is 480 square miles in size. During the ceremony, the two ambassadors spoke about the global financial crisis and shared stories of their respective nations' histories.
