Over 200 researchers, experts and King Abdulaziz University faculty members on Sunday participated in the first program to boost scientific research in different fields. The program, presided over by Prof. Osama S. Tayyeb, KSU President, was aimed at increasing the abilities of female students in colleges recently accredited to KAU. “It is our first priority to reach the society by creating a unique university with sound research facilities. We cannot achieve it except through making a scientific research program and to make it hugely successful,” said Dr. Abdullah Omar Bafail, Vice President for girls' studies and scientific research. “By creating a suitable environment, conducting training, acquiring the experiences and deepening the concept of effort and perseverance in the different fields of scientific research, we will develop sound research ties between the faculty members in the educational colleges,” said Dr. Bafail. Dr. Yusuf Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Turki, Dean of Scientific Research, said the idea of strengthening research at colleges is part of an integrated system. “We will have a series of workshops both in theory and practice in order to make research suggestions,” Dr. Al-Turki was quoted as saying by Saudi Gazette.
