Subail, who is also the General Supervisor of the Book Fair, delivered a speech in which he said that Book Fair contains 250,000 books offered by 650 publishing houses from 27 countries. The speech of Intellectuals was delivered by Faculty Member of Princess Noura bint Abdulrahman University Dr. Fatima Al-Qarni in which she said that the present period is witnessing competition between various channels of information. Brazilian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Sergio Luis thanked, on behalf of the Government of Brazil, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Ministry of Culture and Information for choosing Brazil as guest of honor of the Book Fair. In a speech at the opening ceremony of the Book Fair, the Brazilian Ambassador said that decades of close relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Brazil have significantly contributed to the convergence between the people of the two countries, stressing that the visit of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz to Brazil in 2000 when he was then Crown Prince represented a crucial event in the history of relations between the two countries and opened broad prospects of cooperation at various political, economic and cultural levels. --More
