Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the President of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiques and President of the Heritage Foundation, extended his thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz for his constant sponsorship and preservation of national heritage citing the renovation of the Al Shafe'i Mosque in Jeddah as an example. He also thanked Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense and Inspector General, for his generous support and sponsorship of old mosques in the Kingdom. He also thanked Governor of Al Ahsa'a Prince Badr bin Mohammed bin Jalway for his opening of a mosque in Hafof. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Prince Sultan said that the "Old Mosques Rehabilitation Program" is tasked with the rehabilitation and renovation of old mosques with special architectural significance.
