The Holy Quran Memorization International Organization, an affiliate of Muslim World League (MWL), has expanded its activities to cover more than 60 states. In an annual report issued by the Organization on its achievements in 2008, it said that the number of centers and institutes specialized in memorization of the Holy Quran amounted to 69 in various states, noting that 3090 male and female memorizers graduated last year in addition to granting licenses in readings for 262 memorizers. Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulmohsen Al-Turki, the Secretary General of Muslim World League and Chairman of the Commission's Board of Directors attributed the progress and achievements of the Commission for the support provided for it by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the Crown Prince.
