Bilad, which is published in Jeddah, commenting on the reshuffling of the cabinet and the recent decisions taken by the King, said by these developments the Kingdom has entered a new stage in the field of the reform process in line with the wisdom and farsightedness of the King who has proved to be capable of leading the country towards progress and development. The paper noted that the new decisions were warmly welcomed by the citizens who are keen on the development of their country. On the Arab-Israeli dispute, Abha-based al-Watan said the Israeli government intentionally takes certain decisions to prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state and hinder any effort for realizing a genuine peace. In contradiction to its promises to Washington to dismantle Jewish settlements in the west bank, the government of Olmert has built more settlement as well as the racial separation wall, the daily added. Al-Watan quoted an Israeli newspaper as saying that the civil administration in Israel has approved allocation of about 1700 dunum for expanding the settlements in the west bank. Unless the new US administration puts pressure on Israel, then Israel will go ahead in its expansionist policy at the expense of the Palestinians, the daily added. --more
