Two trains have crashed head on in the Czech Republic, and a news agency says at least 43 people have been injured, according to AP. The accident took place today near a train station in Northern Moravia, a region 200 miles (320 kilometers) east of Prague, the capital. An official with the Czech Rail authority, Ondrej Kubala, says the crash occurred when one of the trains went through a red light and left the station ahead of schedule at about 25 mph (40 kph). It then collided head on with an arriving train, which slammed on its breaks just before the crash. The national CKT news agency says at least 43 people were injured, three of them severely.
