Prince Khalid Al Faisal, Governor of Makkah Region, will inaugurate a four-day conference on March 5 (Monday), within the framework of activities of the Seventh Saudi ORL Society & the 8th GCC ORL Society in collaboration with King Fahd Hospital in Jeddah. Dr. Abdulmunem Hasan Al-sheikh, Chairman of the Saudi Otolaryngology Society as well as the President of the upcoming conference said that as many as 30 specialist and renowned speakers from Saudi Arabia and other member countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and 11 renowned International speakers will be among the 800 attendees and participants in the conference. Among the International speakers will be Fazil Apaydin from Turkey; Moahmmed Hamid, USA; Bodo Betram, Germany; Thomas Murry, USA; Prepageran Maraynan, Malaysia; Mario Sanna, Italy and Hesham Mehanna from UK. The Conference will cover all aspects of Oto-Rhino-Larynogology in addition to Audiology and speech pathology. Dr Alsheikh added that the conference will include 15 scientific meetings, conduct more than 25 Lectures and hold seven discussion-sessions and organize four workshops, including Laryngostroboscopy workshop & Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation & Swallowing (FEES) workshop. The scientific program also includes open meetings for the presentation of scientific papers and 6 working sessions covering various aspects in the field of specialized medicine in ORL and head and neck surgery. The Saudi Council of Health Specialties credited 30 CME Hours (Continuing Medical Education) in attending the conference and three more accredited CME Hours for attending workshops. On the fringe of the conference, a specialized exhibition will also be organized. It will have displays from a number of specialized companies that will exhibit the latest techniques and equipment and materials used in ORL and head and neck surgery.
