Ambassador of Turkey to Saudi Arabia Naci Koro stated that the visit of President Abdullah Gul of the Republic of Turkey to the Kingdom, scheduled for tomorrow, reflects the high-caliber and progressively- growing relations between the two countries. The Turkish Ambassador expressed thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, for his great efforts in boosting the friendly bilateral relations between the Kingdom and Turkey, and their peoples, referring to the two consecutive visits of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz to Turkey in 2006 and 2007, and the visit of Turkish Premier and Turkish Foreign Minister to the Kingdom. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) Ambassador Koro lauded the developmental and economic progress saying that Turkey views the Saudi economy as well-established by virtue of the wise vision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, citing the prospective train projects to be implemented in Jeddah and Riyadh, and the vast pilgrimage-related projects to serve the pilgrims coming from all over the world. He pointed out to the progressively-developing trade relations, citing the current Turkish target of 5 billion US dollars. He noted that the visit of the Turkish President shall witness concluding bilateral cooperation agreements in cultural and educational fields. The Turkish diplomat disclosed that the plan to organize cultural Turkish Days in the Kingdom in addition to being a guest of honor to Janadriya Festival for Culture and Heritage will be the most important cultural events this year. On cooperation between the two countries in the field of tourism, he cited the tours of more than 70,000 Saudi tourists of Turkey last year and entry visas being granted to Saudi citizens at Turkish border ports.
