Wall Street will likely open higher this morning, as investors seemed cheered by Pfizer, Incorporated's deal to buy competitor Wyeth. Pfizer Inc. agreed to buy by Wyeth for $68 billion, in the biggest American merger in about three years. Wyeth was trading up 6.3 percent in pre-market trading in New York. Pfizer fell 4.2 percent. Standard & Poor's 500 Index futures expiring in March rose 0.6 percent to 828.1 as of 11:48 a.m. in London. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures added 0.5 percent to 8,014 and Nasdaq- 100 Index futures advanced 0.6 percent to 1,171.5. Major U.S. indexes are down by about 8 percent for the month of January.
