Riyadh, praising the role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in supporting the Arab causes, said the Kingdom has been unwaveringly shouldering its great responsibility towards the Arab causes. It voiced sympathy with Egypt in the war of 1956 and led a political and an oil battle in the war of 1973 disregarding the threats of Washington and Israel. The paper highlighted the great role played by King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz at the summit of Kuwait and his efforts to unite the Arab ranks. Al-Riyadh said even when tension escalated between Algeria and Morocco, the Kingdom did its best to normalize relations between the two sisterly countries. The Kingdom has been tirelessly working to reconcile the Sudanese, Somalians, Iraqis and even at the Islamic arena, Saudi Arabia tried to reconcile the conflicting Afghan factions and worked to prevent war between Pakistan and India.
