Financing transaction of Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Ma'aden) for Phosphate has won the award of "Transaction of the Year in the Middle East for 2008" by magazine of "Project Finance International" of "Thomas Reuters", which is considered the leading source of information for financing of global projects. The Chief financial officer of the "Ma'aden", Khalid Al-Sedairy expressed happiness with this award, stressing that this transaction represents a major step towards achieving the company's goal to become one of the main pillars of the Saudi economy. In a press statement following receiving the award on behalf of the company during a ceremony held in London recently, Al-Sedairy added that this global estimation given to the deal (Financing Project of Ma'aden for Phosphate) is a certificate of the hard work, commitment and continued enthusiasm of the work team". It is worth mentioning that Financing transaction of Ma'aden for Phosphate is a joint venture between Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Ma'aden) and Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC). Ma'aden aims at becoming an integrated company in producing the phosphate's fertilizer at the international arena by the utilization of the huge reserves of phosphate raw existing in Al-Jalameed site north of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
