An explosion early Saturday killed at least 13 people and collapsed 10 houses in east-central China's Henan province, state-run media reported. An initial investigation showed that detonators stored illegally by a villager likely set off the blast, Xinhua reported. It's unclear how many of the devices exploded and why they were stored. The incident happened just after 1 a.m. in the Donggancheng village of Puyang city in northeast Henan, Xinhua cited provincial safety officials as saying. Five people were reported to be injured, CNN quoted Xinhua as saying.
