The Center for Environment and Development for the Arab Region and Europe (CEDARE) started its 12th meeting here yesterday under the chairmanship of Prince Turki bin Nasser bin Abdulaziz, President of the Presidency of Meteorology and Environment (PME). At the beginning of the meeting, Prince Turki said that the CEDARE priorities include integrated management of water and land resources, information technology, telecommunications, trade and investment issues and the environment, in addition to future expansions of the Center, which includes the establishment of regional offices of the Center in Saudi Arabia and Malta. The interests of the center do not stop at this point, but also highlight many environmental initiatives from governments, civil society and private sector organizations and individuals. Furthermore, the meeting discussed the center's activities during the current year including the establishment of a climate change unit inside the center, documentation and deepening of cooperation with European countries through a large number of projects and joint activities in the areas of climate change, renewable energy and integrated management of water resources and coastal zone management, solid waste management, e-learning and Information Technology.
