Rescue work for over 10 missing people in a boat accident in east China's Jiangxi Province was suspended after Friday midnight due to heavy fog on the river, Xinhua reported. Eleven people were confirmed dead after the overloaded fishing boat sank in Sanjiang River in Nanchang County at 5:30 p.m. Frogmen from the maritime affairs bureau have arrived the accident site to aide the rescue work. But they were unable to search in dense fog, according to the rescue team led by bureau head of the provincial public security Shu Xiaoqin. The boat, with a carrying capacity of 10 people, had more than 40 people on board when it sank. More than 10 people were rescued. Shu said that all the passengers on board were employed by some private businessmen to cross the river by the boat to pick up chufa, a water chestnut, in a village. The businessmen have been brought police detention.
