Kuwait is keen on ensuring the success of the upcoming Arab Economic Summit, as this gathering will place the joint Arab economic track toward integration and cooperation, said Dr. Rasheed Al-Hamad, the Kuwaiti ambassador to Egypt. He made these remarks in a statement to Kuwaiti news agency "KUNA" last night on the sidelines of a roundtable discussion held at the Arab Labor Organization (ALO) on "Development and Operation: Doha Round and Kuwait Summit." He noted that Kuwait's initiative to hold this summit, starting its two-day deliberations later today, was one that reflected the need for positive Arab action in the interest of the people and to boost development in these nations. On his part, ALO Director General Ahmad Luqman told KUNA that the Arab League Secretariat and its affiliate organizations had placed a work plan for the summit, noting that the ministerial committee was tasked with preparations to ensure achieving the aspired results. Moreover, he said the ALO has also held a number of forums and seminars related to the economic summit, the last of which was a meeting in Doha during which a number of decisions were taken and would be referred to the summit.
