A Cypriot-flagged freighter caught fire off north-western Spain early Monday, leaving one crewman dead, DPA quoted rescuers as saying. Twenty-two of the 23 crew were rescued after going on life rafts, while a Filipino crewman was found dead inside MS Doxa. The cause of his death was not immediately clear. Other crew members were treated for inhaling smoke. The captain was Greek, while most of the others were Filipino nationals. The accident occurred off A Pobra several days after the 173-metres-long ship had offloaded a cargo of grain. The fire was extinguished. Its causes were not immediately known.
