Police in Peshawar, Pakistan, said Saturday they were investigating a bombing that killed at least 29 people and wounded more than 90 others, UPI reported. Authorities told local media it was uncertain whether the powerful Friday blast, which originated in a van parked near or in a hotel, was a suicide bombing. They were also trying to determine who was responsible. The Peshawar Police Chief Malik Naveed Khan told Pakistani television the explosion struck near a mosque, adding he expected the numbers of dead and wounded to mount. Witnesses said the bomb exploded near the bazaar in Kissa Kahani, or Street of the Storytellers, when the city was crowded for an upcoming festival.
