The forth meeting of Association of Senates, Shoura and Equivalent Councils in Africa and the Arab World (ASSECA) was opened here today, Saba reported. In the opening session of the meeting, the Chairman of the Shoura Council and ASSECA Abdul-Aziz Abdul-Ghani delivered a speech in which he expressed thanks to Sudan for hosting the meeting. Abdul-Ghani stressed the importance of the meeting which discusses issues relating to organizational aspects of the Association and its General Secretariat. For his part, the ASSECA Secretary General presented a report of the General Assembly of the Association which includes activities of the Association and financial issues as well as suggestion over the budget of coming year.
