The Saudi Post in cooperation with the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) has initiated a new project to facilitate comprehensive services in marketing and sale of 'Hadiy', 'Fidyah' and 'Sadaqah' Coupons for pilgrims and Udhiya (Animal for Sacrifice) Coupons for those who are not performing Hajj. The meaning of "Hadiy" is animal brought to be sacrificed for the sake of Allah Almighty in Makkah; "Fidyah" is due on pilgrims if he or she leaves or violate any of duties as prescribed by the pilgrimage or perform Umrah; "Sadaqah" a voluntary ritual, which can be done by the pilgrim or others by his or their or her or their own choices, and this can be performed anywhere, and at any time in the year. Marketing and sale of Coupons of Udhiya, Al-Hadiy, Fidyah and Sadaqah will be through post offices or by requests electronically on-line WWW.SP.Com.SA The service became operational Saturday, 17th Zul alqedah, 1429H and will continue until the end of Haj rituals i.e. the 13th of DuAl-Hejjah. The provision of such services across different postal outlets is to meet the desire of customers in pursuit of Saudi Post's mission to facilitate the rituals of the pilgrims, citizens and expatriates. The Saudi Post serves as an agent of Coupon holders through the authorization of the Islamic Development Bank as well as Saudi Arabian Project for Utilization of Hajj Meat under which the slaughtered meat is distributed to the needy. It should be noted that the value of one Coupon is fixed at SR 395, representing the average value of one head of sheep for slaughter, as well as operational and cooling services.
