The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has made big strides in the field of higher education. It has now 21 governmental universities and 4 private universities with about 200 faculties in addition to 19 non-governmental university colleges. The universities enjoy to some extent independence in the academic and administrative domains, and they are performing their distinguished missions at university cities that are designed in line with most modern architectural standards. In the academic year 1428-1429 AH, the number of the students at the universities exceeded 700,000 while the number of the members of the academic staff amounted to more than 30,000. --MORE
