President of Singapore S. R. Nathan has lauded the initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud calling for dialogue among followers of religions and cultures, referring to New York high-level meeting on peace of culture which was recently held upon invitation of the king. During a meeting with visiting Shoura Council Chairman Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah bin Homaid, he hailed the bilateral relations binding the two countries. Bin Homaid conveyed to the president the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Vice-Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Singaporean people, wishing Singapore and its people steady progress and prosperity. For his part, bin Homaid lauded the bilateral relations between the two countries. During the meeting, bilateral ties and ways of enhancing them were discussed. Later, bin Homaid met with the Singaporean Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's office Goh Chok Tong who praised the King's initiative on dialogue among followers of religions and cultures. During the meeting, bilateral relations between the two countries and ways of enhancing them were discussed in addition to the situations in the Middle East. The two meetings were attended by bin Homaid's accompanying delegation; Saudi Charge d'Affaires to Singapore Hamza Mohammed Gassas and a number of Singaporean officials.
